Our Story
Purely Homemade was born from a desire to create a brand with purpose — a brand that empowers women, supports healthier choices, and cares for the environment.
Binish and Jasmeen, two university friends, always dreamed of building something that could make a positive difference in their community and beyond. While visiting their hometown, they saw many women with talent, creativity, and a willingness to work, but without the right opportunity to earn and grow.
At the same time, they wanted families to have access to pure, natural products made without unnecessary preservatives, additives, fillers, or artificial colours. With these values in mind, they started Purely Homemade — beginning with natural spices and unique blends, and growing into a brand that celebrates women, homemade skills, and honest products.
Today, every Purely Homemade product carries that same purpose: to support women, promote better everyday choices, and bring pure, trusted products to families.

Purely Homemade was built with a purpose beyond spices.
Through community work in Pakistan, we saw that many mothers wanted work opportunities. Many were homemakers with valuable skills in cooking, sorting, cleaning, drying, and preparing food ingredients.
PHM helps turn those everyday skills into meaningful work. Women help prepare and pack our spices with care, creating income opportunities that support their families with dignity.

Our spices are packed in kraft-style, paper-based pouches designed to help protect freshness, aroma, and quality.
The pouches are practical, presentable, and easy to store at home. When clean and suitable, they may also be reused for simple storage.As PHM grows, we continue to look for better packaging choices that balance food safety, freshness, customer convenience, and responsible business practices.

Who founded Purely Homemade?
Purely Homemade was founded by Binish and Jasmeen, two old college and university friends from Pakistan who later moved to Canada. They started PHM to bring natural, pure, preservative and Additive free Pakistani and South Asian spices to Canadian families while supporting women through meaningful work opportunities.

Where are Purely Homemade spices prepared and packed?
Purely Homemade spices are prepared and packed in our own facility in Karachi, Pakistan. The products are then imported to Ontario, Canada by Purely HM and sold through our website and selected retail stores

Why was Purely Homemade created?
Purely Homemade was created to solve two needs: families in Canada were missing the real taste and aroma of homemade Pakistani and South Asian food, and women in Pakistan needed dignified work opportunities using skills they already had at home

Are all PHM spices stone-ground?
Yes. PHM spices are stone-ground using traditional methods to help preserve aroma, colour, and flavour. This applies to our spices and spice blends, not non-spice items such as teas or gift products.
