Biryani typically refers to a traditional recipe where long-grain basmati rice is layered with marinated meat (like chicken, mutton, or beef), and cooked using the "dum" method—slow cooking in a sealed pot to allow the flavors to meld.
PHM Biryani Recipe :
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED
Meat on Bones 1 kg/2.2 lb, Basmati Rice 750g /3 1/2 cups, washed & soaked
Onions 300g /3 medium, finely sliced,Tomatoes 300g / 3-4 medium, diced
Potatoes 250g /2 medium, peeled and quartered, Garlic Paste 2 tb ,
Ginger Paste 2 tb, Chillies 8-10 Small,Yogurt, plain 200g / 1 cup, whipped
Oil / Ghee 175ml /1 cup
PHM Biryani Mix 1 BAG ONLY
STEPS OF COOKING
- Fry onions in hot Oil/ ghee until golden. Add tomatoes and fry until oil separates.
- Add meat, garlic paste, ginger paste, yogurt, potatoes, green chili, and Purely Homemade Biryani Mix.
- Stir fry for 10 minutes. Add water (Beet/Lamb 4 cups, Chicken 1 cup), Cover, and cook on low heat until the meat is tender. Then Increase heat and stir fry until oil separates from gravy.
- Separately: In 15 cups/3 liters of boiling water, stir In 3 tablespoons of PHM Salt and soaked rice.
- Boil rice until 3/4 cooked. Remove and drain thoroughly.
- Spread half the rice in a pot and pour meat curry. Top with remaining rice. Cover pot and simmer the ricefor 5 minutes on high heat then 10 minutes on low heat.
Mix before serving
